Citation XLS: Off to a Great Start in 2004

October 11, 2004
Las Vegas, NV - October 11, 2004 - Cessna's Citation XLS is quickly becoming a best seller. Cessna has already delivered 13 Citation XLS. These deliveries come less than nine months after Cessna received Citation XLS approval in March. Additional Citation XLS deliveries are scheduled for later this year.

The Citation XLS is the successor to the Citation Excel, the fastest-selling business jet of the 21st century. The XLS is powered by Pratt & Whitney's new PW545B engines that provide 3,991 pounds of takeoff thrust each, an increase of 4.9% compared to the Excel. This additional thrust also provides remarkable cruise speeds and climb performance. At its maximum takeoff weight, the XLS is able to climb directly to 45,000 feet in 29 minutes, and cruise at 429 ktas once at that altitude.

The XLS cockpit features the all new Honeywell Primus 1000 Control Display System (CDS) with three 8" x 10" liquid crystal displays; two primary flight displays (PFD), one for each pilot; and one multi-function display (MFD).

The substantially expanded XLS standard equipment list incorporates over $600,000 of once optional Excel equipment. The nine-place interior includes a six-place center club-seating configuration, with a two-place belted couch and aft left-hand belted seat.

Cessna announced the Citation XLS at the 2003 National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Convention in Orlando, Florida. The Citation XLS is one of three business jets that Cessna will begin to deliver in 2004.
