Pelican Aviation Honored with 50-Year Plaque

Oshkosh, WI - July 26, 2004 - Pelican Aviation Corporation, a Cessna Service Station at the Acadiana Regional Airport in Louisiana, was awarded a 50-year service award in July. Cessna's Director of Propeller Aircraft Customer Service, Steve Charles, presented the award to Pelican Aviation's owner Rock LaSalle. Pelican Aviation is our tenth distribution partner to be awarded Cessna's prestigious 50-year continuous service award.

"Few, if any other aircraft manufacturers have this level of life long demonstrated commitment to their product by local partners. Pelican Aviation first opened as a seaplane base located on the Bayou Teche in New Iberia, Louisiana. At that time, the company's founder, Ed LaSalle, provided aircraft sales, flight training and maintenance services. Pelican Aviation continued to prosper and became an authorized Cessna dealer in 1954. In 1980, they moved to their present location at the Acadiana Regional Airport. Today, Pelican Aviation continues to be owned and operated by the LaSalle family a condition of the Cessna award program. Pelican Aviation is recognized as an authorized Cessna Single Engine Service Station and provides maintenance for all models of Cessna propeller airplanes in their area.
