E-Z-GO Donates Golf Car For World Record Attempt

June 08, 2006

Ipswich, England - June 8, 2006 - The E-Z-GO division of Ipswich-based Ransomes Jacobsen Ltd has donated a golf buggy to help professional golfer Glenn Turner in his quest to raise £1 million for the Rhys Daniels Trust.

Glenn will be playing at courses throughout Great Britain, Ireland and Spain with a host of celebrities including Bobby Davro, Clayton Blackmore, Stan Boardman, Kenny Dalglish and Dennis Taylor. He is attempting to play more than 500 rounds of golf in a single year and will need support from organisations and golfers to help him succeed in his record bid.

Not content with attempting to raise £1 million for the Rhys Daniels Trust's 'home from home' appeal, which helps families of children with life threatening illnesses, he will also be raising funds for 43 local children's hospices around the UK.

Richard Tyrrell, General Manager, E-Z-GO Division speaking about the record attempt said, "Glenn's attempt on the record is going to be extremely tough, but hopefully the golf car that we're donating will enable him to get around the courses much quicker, especially as he has to average nearly 10 a week! It goes without saying that we are obviously delighted to be in a position to help such a worthy cause."

Glenn added, "I'm really grateful to the E-Z-GO guys for coming on board. Every golfer and organisation who supports me really will be helping, however large or small their contribution."
