Lycoming Engines Adds New Engine Shops to Build Non-Certified Experimental Engines

April 05, 2006

Lakeland, FL (Sun N Fun, D-041, D-042) – April 5, 2006 – Lycoming Engines announced today the addition of Penn Yan Aero and Kendra Air Parts to the exclusive list of kit engine shops working with Lycoming Engines to provide custom non-certified engines to the experimental aircraft market.

In 2005, Lycoming Engines announced the availability of its newly developed kit engine program. Non-certified, experimental kit engines were offered in response to the demands of kit builders who requested a Genuine Lycoming engine but who wanted customizing options.

Lycoming delivers a full line of engines from 160 horsepower to 300 horsepower in kit form to the selected shops for sale to experimental aircraft builders. Lycoming provides all the necessary basic components and ensures that the parts conform to Lycoming's strict quality standards.

A variety of engine models are offered including the 320, 360, 390, and 540 configurations. The kit includes a crankcase, a crankshaft, connecting rods, and Lycoming cylinder assemblies (including pistons, rings and valves). Various combinations of accessories will be available to complete each customer's engines.
