PGA Chooses Jacobsen as Turf Equipment Supplier for its Premier Properties

September 08, 2006

Charlotte, N.C. – September 8, 2006 – Jacobsen, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, is now "The Official Turf Equipment Supplier to The PGA of America," the world's largest working sports organization, and "The Exclusive Turf Equipment Supplier to PGA Golf Properties."

The 10-year agreement comes as The PGA of America begins major renovation efforts on two of its championship facilities: the PGA Village in Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, host of the 2008 Ryder Cup. The PGA of America chose Jacobsen equipment to define the look of these prestigious PGA properties in order to produce the world-class conditions long-affiliated with the brand and its legendary quality of cut.

"PGA Golf Properties are a showcase for The PGA of America brand and we have a renewed focus on elevating the golfing conditions at these properties," said PGA of America President Roger Warren. "We believe Jacobsen equipment will play a significant role in helping us continue to craft courses worthy of hosting some of the finest professional golf tournaments in the world."

In addition to supplying the turf equipment that will renovate and maintain PGA properties for years to come, the agreement allows Jacobsen personnel the opportunity to communicate with PGA Professionals and to teach a broader understanding of helpful agronomic and turfgrass management practices that create championship-quality playing conditions.

"As The PGA celebrates its 90th year, it is reinvigorated with leaders who are taking the organization to the next level in excellence," says Greg Hewitt, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Jacobsen. "Jacobsen is honored to be a partner in helping the PGA advance the conditions of all of its properties and golf courses."

This partnership with The PGA of America reflects Jacobsen's continued commitment toward establishing itself as the industry leader in golf course maintenance.
