New - Jacobsen Eclipse 122F Pedestrian Greens Mower

September 04, 2007

September 4, 2007 - Launched at the GIS Show in Anaheim and making its SALTEX debut the new Jacobsen Eclipse 122 F greens mower redefines tournament quality of cut through a new cutting head capable of 50% more float than competitor machines.

The Eclipse 122 F combines the exclusive Jacobsen In-Command™ control system with an independently mounted cutting unit to produce an optimum cut in any conditions. The true floating-head design and a variety of performance options virtually eliminate the possibility of scalping, providing a consistent, low height-of-cut on difficult undulating and contoured greens.

"We have always designed products with an emphasis on quality," said Manuel Ruiz, Ransomes Jacobsen Product Manager. "The Eclipse 122 F delivers the best quality-of-cut and gives operators a level of control over performance that has never before been offered on the golf course."

The Eclipse comes with two motors: one controls the ground speed, the other controls the speed of the cutting reel. Both can be adjusted independently on an easy-to-read LCD screen giving greenkeepers the ability to set frequency-of-cut to match their specific situation. They can also choose from two power options: the final drive comes from a 48 volt genset, which can be powered by either a drop-in battery pack or a 4.6hp Honda petrol engine.

The new mower also features four rolling surfaces to reduce overall ground pressure, leaving the floating head free to tread lightly over contours and produce a pristine cut.

Manuel Ruiz concluded saying, "A greens mower only cuts as well as it is set to cut. The Eclipse provides control over more aspects of performance than any other mower out there, getting the best quality of cut on any green, under any condition.”
