Cessna Launches Two Solutions for Piston Customers

July 28, 2008

Oshkosh, WI - July 28, 2008 - The Customer Service team at Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, has created two solutions that offer single-engine piston customers performance and safety enhancements. The company made the announcement today at the Experimental Aircraft Association’s AirVenture 2008.

Cessna owners now can have their local Cessna authorized service facility install a Ballistic Recovery Systems (BRS) parachute designed for their model 172/182. The system uses a small portion of a baggage compartment without causing aerodynamic changes to the airframe.

Another new aftermarket option available through Cessna authorized service centers is the AmSafe Aviation Inflatable Restraint (AAIR®) system for Cessna models 177, 182, 206 and 210. The self-contained, self-powered airbag system weighs only two pounds per passenger placement and is compatible with standard seats and seatbelt attach points.

Propeller-driven Cessnas are supported through a worldwide network of more than 350 independent service facilities operating with high standards of customer service. As the local expert in servicing Cessnas, each center provides a consistently high level of service, including facilities, personnel, training, basic and special tools, parts and technical information.
