Textron Systems Adds Stuart Grief to Leadership Team

Grief to Oversee Strategic Planning, Mergers & Acquisitions and Business Integration for Growing Business

Wilmington, MA - July 28, 2008 - Textron Systems, a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company, today announced the appointment of Stuart Grief as senior vice president, Strategy and Business Integration reporting to Textron Systems President, Frank Tempesta. Grief will be responsible for strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and related integration activities, supporting Textron Systems continued growth and competitive position in the aerospace and defense industry.

"Stuart brings a wealth of experience in setting strategies to foster both organic and acquisitive growth as well as increase profitability. Textron Systems has grown substantially over recent years, and we expect to continue that growth at an aggressive pace," said Tempesta. "In his role at Textron Systems, Stuart will help guide that growth going forward as we continue to focus on meeting our customers needs."

Grief joins Textron Systems from Textron's Corporate office, where he was vice president of Strategy and Business Development. In that role, Grief helped shape Textron's business and market strategies in order to drive maximum return on invested capital and value. Prior to joining Textron in 2004, Grief spent 14 years with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). As a BCG vice president and director as well as a senior member of its Industrial Goods and Automotive practices and a leader of the Corporate Finance and Strategy practice, he worked with clients to perfect their portfolios, operations and related strategies.

Grief has a bachelor's degree with honors in Economics and Computer Science from Brandeis University and a master's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management.
