NGA Certifies RemoteView 3.0 For Precision Positioning

August 17, 2009
Sterling, VA - August 17, 2009 - Overwatch®, an operating unit of Textron Systems, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, today announced the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) has certified its RemoteView 3.0 solution for precision positioning using Common Geo-positioning Services (CGS) Version 2.1. The certification, which provides the largest base of GeoINT analysts access to CGS precision targeting through their current RemoteView applications, represents a continuation in Overwatch’s CGS validation program which began with the certification of RemoteView 2.8.1 with CGS Version 2.0 earlier this year.

CGS was designed to provide users of all image exploitation systems with a common tool for precise geo-positioning. Overwatch’s CGS certification provides GeoINT analysts and targeteers, at every level of the U.S. Department of Defense and across intelligence agencies, a validated and consistent tool for producing the most accurate geo-coordinates possible for precision targeting. The certification paves the way for thousands of RemoteView users to integrate CGS with their current RemoteView Pro 3.0.3 and later versions of the 3.0 product for targeting via the NGA’s Image Exploitation Capability (IEC).

The CGS software is provided by the U.S. Government and is easily installed on any workstation running RemoteView Pro 3.0.N for the Windows® operating system. Use of CGS is also easily learned with minimal training for users familiar with RemoteView. Overwatch will continue to expand its validated targeting solutions, continuing with the validation of RemoteView and ELT5500 integrated with CGS Version 2.3 later this year.
