SkyBOOKS Awarded Heliservicio Maintenance Tracking and Integration Contract!

October 16, 2009

Jacksonville, FL - October 14, 2009 - SkyBOOKS Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Bell Helicopter, a Textron, Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, has been selected by Heliservicio and Servicio Tecnico Aereo de Mexico (STAM) as the maintenance tracking and business integration partner for their growing, mixed fleet of high-utilization helicopters.

SkyBOOKS’ implementation will result in real-time information for management and support personnel operating Heliservicio’s widely dispersed fleet, currently 40 aircraft flying more than 4,000 hours a month and transporting close to 100,000 passengers.

Heliserivicio is headquartered in Mexico City and operates seven other major support bases all around Mexico to service the oil and gas industry, with various missions including off and onshore personnel and cargo transportation, seismic exploration and power line inspection.

Heliservicio Vice President General Manager Javier Garcia said, "The SkyBOOKS functionality and integration will allow us to continue our growth plans, operate more efficiently and ensure full maintenance compliance. In addition to protecting our human and mechanical assets, SkyBOOKS will improve the dispatch and maintenance process by eliminating redundant, time-consuming paperwork. This is the productivity required to support our future growth plans, allowing us to be even more competitive in the future."

"We will provide real-time visibility and decision-making capability never before available for their integrated flight operations, maintenance planning and financial administration," said John Willis, SkyBOOKS Chief Operating Officer. "When complete, Heliservicio will know the precise location of each aircraft, which passengers were carried by leg and distance, fuel quantity by liters, the current maintenance status and meter values of each aircraft and the warranty status of all parts removed. Furthermore, they will be able to project future part demands by component or by part number for each aircraft in the fleet."

SkyBOOKS is customizing the software to meet the unique needs of Heliservicio and STAM, which will include:

  • Maintenance tracking for a high-utilization Approved Alternate Inspection Program (AAIP)offshore fleet operations
  • In-country on-site management and employee training in Spanish
  • Existing flight operations customization, crew scheduling, manifest control and duty limitations
  • Flight operations integration to existing business and billing systems
  • Maintenance-due list reporting and forecasting
  • Integration and real-time downloads from Blue Sky Flight Tracking Services
  • Document attachment to installed aircraft components
  • Historical document archiving for logbooks, records, tags, and Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) data
  • Flight crew proficiency tracking and alerting for weekly, monthly and annual flight duty limitations
