Cessna Delivers Five Grand Caravans to Susi Air in Indonesia

February 02, 2010
Singapore - February 2, 2010 - Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, has delivered five more Grand Caravans to Indonesia’s Susi Air as part of the order for 30 Grand Caravan single engine turboprops announced last year. The deliveries will be celebrated in a small ceremony at Cessna’s exhibit during the Singapore Airshow.

Cessna delivered nine new Caravans to Susi Air in 2009 with a total of 11 expected to be delivered this year and remainder of the order by the end of 2011.

The 30 Grand Caravans will augment Susi Air’s existing fleet of 10 Grand Caravans. Susi Air began operations with two Caravans in December 2006, providing scheduled and charter passenger and cargo service throughout Indonesia, as well as humanitarian airlift support for the region.

“The Grand Caravan has proven to be the ideal aircraft for transportation of people and cargo throughout Indonesia, and Susi Air currently operates the largest fleet in Asia. They now have a large portion of their Caravan fleet equipped with the latest Garmin G1000 avionics, terrain and traffic awareness systems, which improve operational capabilities and safety,” said Bob Gibbs, Cessna’s Director of International Sales.
