cessna delivers first european citation cj4

November 11, 2010

Long Beach, CA – November 11, 2010 – Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, has delivered the Citation CJ4 to a European customer.

The aircraft was delivered to a private owner/operator in the U.K last month.

A new Citation CJ4 is on static display at the Long Beach Airport (KLGB) during the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) Aviation Summit 2010.

European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification for the CJ4 is now pending and Cessna plans to make the first European-registered delivery of the aircraft type, into Germany, in the second quarter of 2011. U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification for the CJ4 was granted in March 2010, with the first customer delivery taking place in April.

The CJ4 is the newest and largest member of the popular CJ family of business jets, which includes the Citation CJ1+, CJ2+ and CJ3. The CJ4 is FAA-approved for single-pilot operations and shares a common pilot type rating with the other CJs. (A pilot rated to fly any one of the CJs is therefore rated to fly them all.) Retail price for a typically-equipped CJ4 is $9 million.

The CJ4 has a range of just over 2,000 nautical miles (3,710 kilometers) and a top speed of 453 knots per hour (839 kilometers). The aircraft has a takeoff roll of 3,130 feet (954 meters) at maximum takeoff weight.

The CJ4 features a four-screen Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite and debuts the Rockwell Collins Venue cabin management system. Standard features on the aircraft include multi-scan weather radar and a maintenance diagnostic system.
