New Orleans, LA – April 6, 2011 — Textron Marine & Land Systems, an operating unit of Textron Systems, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, today announced the appointment of Michael Micucci as vice president of expeditionary programs. Micucci, a retired U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) Colonel, will be based in Quantico, Va.
In the newly developed position of vice president of Expeditionary Programs, Micucci’s focus will be to manage USMC programs and strengthen the relationship between Textron Marine & Land Systems and the USMC. Micucci is Department of Defense Level III certified in program management with extensive experience in program management, strategic planning, joint and international procurement, systems engineering, organizational effectiveness and risk management.
"With his extensive experience in the Marine Corps, Mike is in a position to effectively guide Textron Marine & Land Systems’ efforts with the USMC, especially in today’s highly competitive and budget constrained defense market," said Textron Marine & Land Systems Senior Vice President and General Manager Tom Walmsley. "Mike’s leadership and direction in connection with USMC programs will increase our pursuit and capture of new opportunities."
Prior to joining Textron Marine & Land Systems, Micucci served as product group director, Ground Transportation and Engineer Systems and deputy program executive officer of Land Systems at the U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command. Micucci also held positions as program manager, Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) with Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM), and product manager, Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV), Marine Corps Systems Command.
Micucci earned a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University and a master’s degree in public administration from Western Michigan University, as well as a master’s degree in national resource management from the National Defense University. He is also a senior acquisition course graduate from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and Advanced Program Management course graduate from the Defense Acquisition University.
