Bell Helicopter Delivers First Bell 429 from Singapore Service Center

December 03, 2012

Fort Worth, TX (December 3, 2012) - Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. company (NYSE: TXT), announced today the delivery of the first Bell 429 from its new Singapore facility. The corporate-configured Bell 429 was delivered to PT Whitesky Aviation in Jakarta, Indonesia. With the latest delivery, PT Whitesky Aviation operates a fleet of five Bell Helicopter aircraft, including two Bell 429s and three Bell 407s.

“We are delighted that Bell Helicopter is reaching out to customers like us,” said Denon Prawiraatmadja, president and director of PT Whitesky Aviation. “Bell Helicopter’s Singapore Service Center is a convenient one-stop shop for both sales and support. The ability to purchase and fly a new aircraft from one location makes the process fast, smooth and efficient.”

Bell Helicopter opened the doors to its regional service center in Singapore on July 31, 2012 to better serve customers in Asia Pacific. The state-of-the-art facility offers comprehensive support solutions to keep operators in flight while reducing their operating costs. The 160,500 square foot facility is utilized for customer training, customization and completions, major refurbishment projects, labor and parts sales, as well as maintenance, repair and overhaul.

“The delivery of the first Bell 429 from Singapore is a significant milestone in Bell Helicopter’s mission to expand our international capabilities and respond to our global customer base,” said Eric Cardinali, executive vice president of Customer Support and Services for Bell Helicopter. “No matter where our products fly, we provide industry-leading support for our customers because our success depends on their satisfaction.”

PT Whitesky Aviation’s second corporate Bell 429 is equipped with a 7,500 increased gross weight (IGW) kit in anticipation of pending IGW approval in Indonesia. The IGW of the Bell 429 essentially doubles the range and permits operators to equip the aircraft with safety enhancements such as the Helicopter Terrain Awareness Warning System (HTAWS).

"We are honored that PT Whitesky Aviation has placed their trust in Bell Helicopter," said Danny Maldonado, Bell Helicopter's executive vice president of Commercial Sales and Marketing. “Overall, the response to the Bell 429 has been remarkable and a growing number of customers recognize this aircraft’s exceptional performance.”

The Bell Helicopter 429 is one of the most advanced light twin IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) helicopters ever developed. The 429 has set the standard for light twins, delivering exceptional speed, range, hover performance and enhanced safety margins. The 429 boasts a spacious cabin with 204ft3 (5.78m3) of usable volume, optional rear clam-shell doors and seating for 7 passengers and 1 crew.
