Opening shows strong commitment to China and Asia
Guangzhou, China. On November 27, 2012 automotive supplier Kautex Textron celebrates the opening of its first Development & Validation Center (DVC) in China with guests from the local government and from all over the world. The Center is located in Kautex´s plant in Guangzhou. Firstly, the decision for a DVC is to have a higher customer focus: to develop and test products closer to the automotive manufacturers and to be more flexible. Also "China is and will be very important in Kautex´s growth strategy. This DVC is a clear commitment to the Chinese and to the Asian market," said Vicente Perez-Lucerga, President & CEO of Kautex.
The DVC, established in 2012, develops, test and validates the plas-tic fuel tanks for different Chinese and other Asian automotive manufacturers. It is part of the Kautex Plant in Guangzhou and employs ten people. "The location is perfect since it is directly connected to the serial production. This allows an easy knowledge transfer and much quicker reaction to customer needs," explained Wayne Shen, Vice President Operations Asia.
The Grand Opening Ceremony in Guangzhou allowed Kautex to introduce the DVC to the media and also thank the officials and em-ployees who helped to build and set up the new division. Kautex be-lieves that the DVC will further strengthen the confidence of its customers in China in their well-known high quality and innovative products.
