Fort Worth, TX (February 21, 2014) – Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. company (NYSE:TXT) recognized Texas State Senator Bob Deuell today with the Bell Helicopter Legislative Leadership Award. The award honors elected officials who have been avid supporters of the aerospace and defense industries and who have fostered an environment of economic growth in Texas and across the nation.

Sen. Deuell helped pass HB 800 during the 83rd Texas Legislative Session, which reinstated a state research and development tax credit and created a research and development sales tax exemption in the state. He also supported HB 3121 which modified the current Freeport Tax exemption in Texas law and provides constitutional relief for advanced manufacturing facilities, like Bell Helicopter, who hold inventory stored in the state.

The award was presented in district on Friday, February 21, 2014.
