New Tampa, Fla. Location Enhances Cessna Citation CJ Series Pilot Options

GOOSE CREEK, S.C.September 18, 2014 –  ProFlight, a subsidiary of TRU Simulation + Training Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, and a leader in innovative, advanced pilot training, announced today plans to open a flight training center early in 2015 in Tampa, Fla. Like ProFlight’s training center located in Carlsbad, Calif., the Tampa location will initially feature training for the Cessna Citation CJ series aircraft. Future plans are to expand the facility’s offerings to nine aircraft training programs.

“This expansion will enhance flight training options available to CJ pilots worldwide as we open up our east coast location in the Tampa area. Soon they will be able to experience the same great training that previously was only available to ProFlight customers on the west coast,” explained Jim Takats, TRU Simulation + Training Inc. president and CEO. “This paves the way for greater service, safety and convenience for an expanded customer base down the road.”

ProFlight is a Federal Aviation Administration-approved Part 142 training center specializing in Cessna Citation CJ Series training and Cessna Conquest Series training. With superior pilot proficiency and safety as its mission, in addition to initial aircraft training, the company goes beyond standard FAA and insurance industry mandated ongoing pilot training hours to offer a comprehensive and innovative “continuous currency” program, called CJ Current 365®.

The three- to five-day program, available 365 days a year, utilizes computer-based tools, a CJ3 Level D Full Flight Simulator, and classroom instruction with a curriculum that emphasizes scenario training in the context of true-to-life missions. Taught by highly experienced instructor pilots, the aim of the CJ Current 365 program is to give pilots the utmost aircraft system proficiency and confidence flying—no matter what the time of year or point in their mandated training cycle.
