Bell Helicopter Announces Sales to Qiqihar Kun Feng General Aviation Co.

March 02, 2015

Fort Worth, TX (March 2, 2015) – Bell Helicopter a Textron Inc. company (NYSE: TXT), today announced the purchase of two Bell 407GX and a letter of intent to purchase five Bell 505 aircraft by Qiqihar Kun Feng General Aviation Co., a subsidiary of Kun Feng Group, a agricultural holding company.

“For many years Qiqihar Kun Feng has utilized leased helicopters in their operations. We are proud they have chosen Bell helicopters as they build a reliable fleet of self-owned aircraft,” said Chris Jaran, Vice President for Bell Helicopter in China.

Qiqihar Kun Feng is the second of China’s leading agricultural firms to acquire Bell helicopters to be used primarily for crop spraying.

“We are pleased to work with Bell Helicopter’s team in China as we expand our operations,” said, Mr. Zhu Dayong, Managing Director for Qiqihar Kun Feng. “We look forward to taking ownership of the Bell 407 and 505 aircraft and employing the enhanced capabilities they bring.”

Built on the proven performance and reliability of the Bell 407 platform, the Bell 407GX features the Garmin G1000H™ flight deck, providing critical flight information at a glance for greater situational awareness and increased safety. The flight deck's high resolution LCD screens host primary flight and multi-function display information, including Helicopter Terrain Avoidance Warning System, Helicopter Synthetic Vision Technology™, Traffic Information Systems and more. The 407GX also features a tail rotor camera, allowing the pilot a clear view of the tail during take-offs and landings.

The Bell 505 is a five-seat, single-engine, turbine helicopter leveraging Bell Helicopter’s proven technology and nearly half a century of experience. Its fully flat floor, increased cabin volume and clam shell doors provide the configuration flexibility needed in today's market. The customer-driven design of the aircraft places safety, performance and affordability at its forefront, blending proven systems with advanced technology and a sleek, modern design. Pilot workload is further reduced by the Turbomeca Arrius 2R engine with dual channel Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC). The Bell 505 features a high inertia rotor system delivering superior auto rotation capabilities. With the ideal combination of speed, range and useful load, the Jet Ranger X is designed to deliver best-in-class performance.
