Kautex Textron GmbH & Co. KG Highlights Innovative Product Line at IAA 2015

September 14, 2015

BONN, GERMANY (14 September  2015)Kautex Textron GmbH & Co., KG (Kautex), a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company announced it will showcase its new all-plastic, pressurized hybrid fuel tank for the first time at the 2015 International Motor Show Cars (IAA) in Frankfurt, Germany from 15 – 18 September.

“We are thrilled to be present at the 2015 IAA, to meet with our customers and to showcase some of our newest product offerings,” said Vicente Perez-Lucerga, Kautex’s president & CEO. “The introduction of the industry’s first all-plastic, pressurized hybrid fuel tank is a significant achievement in the industry, and we have received strong interest from our customers – including two OEMs who are already using this technology in their most recent product lines.”

The new hybrid tank on display at the Kautex booth (Hall 4.1, Booth C18) uses Kautex’s NGFS® twin sheet technology, adding stiffening elements to withstand the pressure / vacuum requirements needed for hybrid applications. It features a usable volume of 50 liters and offers a pressure resistance range of -150 mbar to 350 mbar. The technology is a first in the industry – and one of many “firsts” for the company, which celebrates its 80th anniversary this year.

Kautex will also highlight its Next Generation Carbon Canister (NGCC®) which offers new, low emission technology. The product has a unique, patented design increasing systems’ loading and purging performance. These products reduce the overall fuel system emissions — critical to meeting future regulatory requirements for hydrocarbon emissions.

The company will also feature products from its Clear Vision Systems line, which designs, develops and manufactures automotive wash systems. This includes windshield, headlight, camera and sensor cleaning systems as well as wash pumps and systems.

“Environmental sustainability is at the forefront of our design and a part of the strategic, long-term conversations with our customers and suppliers,” continued Perez-Lucerga. “We are carefully examining the trends which are, in part, driving the future of the automotive industry and creating innovative solutions to meet our customers’ requirements.”

IAA Cars is hosting its 66th event in Frankfurt, Germany, from Sept. 15 – 27, 2015. The event is one of the most comprehensive automotive shows for OEMs, suppliers and manufacturers of passenger cars. The IAA is unique in that it also boasts a large presence of global suppliers representing the entire value stream. Approximately 400 exhibitors from the supply industry are expected to present at this year’s IAA.
