TRU Expands Its ProFlight® Pilot Training Capabilities to Include Cessna Citation CJ4 and M2 Programs

November 03, 2016

NBAA’s Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), Orlando, FL—November 3, 2016—TRU Simulation + Training Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announced today that it is expanding its ProFlight pilot training capability with new programs available for the Cessna Citation CJ4 and Cessna Citation M2 aircraft models. Successfully earning Level D qualifications from the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), both the CJ4 and M2 full flight simulators (FFS) are ready to train customers at their respective coast locations. The CJ4 FFS is installed in TRU’s West Coast training center in Carlsbad, California, while the M2 FFS is installed in TRU’s East Coast training center in Tampa, Florida. The qualification of the CJ4 and M2 devices are two of four recent simulator announcements that support several popular Cessna business jet models, including the Cessna Citation CJ3+ and Citation Latitude. The CJ3+ and Latitude full flight simulators are already installed at TRU’s East Coast training center in Tampa, Florida and will be qualified to Level D standards in 2017.

The on-site recurrent courses for the CJ4 are now FAA approved while the M2 recurrent training programs are slated to be available in the fourth quarter of 2016. Both programs’ Current 365® course and popular distance learning option is planned to be available in the first quarter of 2017.

TRU’s ProFlight product offering features highly individualized instruction using a combination of learning modalities. These methods include best-in-class interactive courseware, an advanced proprietary NextGen flight training device, and a high-fidelity, state-of-the-art Level D full flight simulator—as well as classroom training from experienced, current pilot instructors. In addition, the NextGen flight training device closely matches the actual aircraft cockpit and offers the industry’s first Live Air Traffic Control interface to better prepare pilots for aircraft operations. TRU will offer a mix of courses for these aircraft models: initial aircraft and initial type rating, recurrent, avionics introduction, as well as ProFlight’s online Current 365 continuous currency courses where the student receives access to highly integrated online courseware for recurrent training from the comfort of their own home.

David Smith, Vice President of Training Centers, stated that, “We are excited to bring our customers a best-in-class training experience for the popular CJ4 and M2 aircraft models. As we continue to expand our pilot training programs, convenience is a core element to ensuring our customers receive a total training solution.”
