Able Debuts Virtual Tours, Touch-Screens At New Heli-Expo Booth

February 27, 2017

MESA, Arizona (February 27, 2017) – Able Aerospace Services Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company will debut a new booth at Heli-Expo 2017, using virtual reality and touch-screen technology to deliver a closer-thanever look into the fast-evolving aerospace company.

“We realize not everyone has the time or resources to physically visit our facility, but when they do, we usually hear them say something like, ‘Wow. I had no idea Able did all of this,’ ” said John Celigoy, Vice President of Business Generation for Able Aerospace Services. “Technology has given us a way to bring the Able experience to all of our colleagues and customers at Heli-Expo. We look forward to this exchange and the conversations it will start about how we best – and most comprehensively – serve the industry.”

Let’s Get Virtual

At the new Able booth, customers can don virtual reality glasses for a 360-degree tour of the company’s headquarters – a state-of-the-art, 200,000-square-foot facility that incorporates administrative offices, a complete MRO facility and the Able Maintenance Center on the taxiway of the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport in Mesa, Arizona.

Keep In Touch

A new touch-screen experience allows guests to dive deeper into Able’s capabilities, offering videos of individual departments such as plating, hydraulics and bearings, as well as the component repair and overhaul floor, the new Able Maintenance Center and the company’s award winning gym and wellness facility. The touch-screen experience also allows visitors to access a range of data sheets, providing a broad view of Able’s higher assembly overhaul capabilities and how those services break down into FAA-approved repair and approved replacement parts solutions for a wide range of helicopter platforms – from Bell and Sikorsky to Leonardo and Airbus.

Privacy, Please

Able’s new booth doubles its amount of conference room space, with private meeting areas featuring multi-media presentation screens, refreshment stations and partially enclosed ceilings that maximize privacy and minimize noise.

“Our success is rooted in the power of communication and problem solving. This is the most direct route to identifying our customers’ needs and innovating quick, safe and cost-saving solutions,” said Celigoy. “The new Heli-Expo booth brings a new dimension to that process. It makes the experience fun and engaging while still providing very technical detail on how we serve the market and how we can expand those services to safely save the industry even more time and money.”
