Lycoming Engines Announces EAA AirVenture 2018 Activities

Williamsport, PA - 23 July 2018 - Lycoming Engines, an operating division of Avco Corporation, announces its 2018 EAA AirVenture activities that will take place July 23-29 in Oshkosh, WI. With its portfolio of over 700 certificated piston aviation engines, Lycoming has been powering aircraft worldwide since 1929. Attendees of this show can visit Lycoming at booth 277-282 throughout the week.

Engine School Seminars - Lycoming will be offering its popular Piston Engine Service School at EAA AirVenture again this year. These sessions provide information regarding various topics to help you understand and maintain your Lycoming engine. Registration for sessions start 30 minutes before each event at Lycoming’s newly redesigned training tent at our booth (277-282). Sessions will be held Monday through Saturday from 9:30am11:30am and 1:00pm-3:00pm.

Forums Schedule – A Lycoming product support representative will share information and tips, and will be available to answer questions regarding Lycoming’s products and services at the forums listed below.

  • Lycoming’s Engine Tech Tips: A forum discussing the care, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Lycoming Engines.

  • Lycoming’s iE2 Applied: Join Michael Kraft, Lycoming Engines Senior Vice President and General Manager, for an update on Lycoming Engines’ iE2 Integrated Electronic Engine.

Aircraft on Display

  • Tecnam P Twenty-Ten – A Tecnam P Twenty-Ten will be on display at our booth this year. The Tecnam Aircraft P Twenty-Ten in its standard configuration is powered by a Lycoming IO-360 engine. The Tecnam Aircraft P Twenty-Ten MkII version is powered by Lycoming’s IO-390 engine.
  • 2017 Team Rocket F1 EVO – We are pleased to have the 2017 Team Rocket F1 EVO S/N 162, powered by a Lycoming Thunderbolt YAEIO-540-EXP, at our booth this year. Thunderbolt engines are Lycoming's brand of high performance, built-to-order powerplants for Experimental aircraft.

Autograph Sessions with Aerobatic Legends
Aerobatic performers Mike Goulian and Sean Tucker will visit Lycoming’s booth (277-282) during the show to sign autographs. Mike Goulian flies an Extra 330SC, powered by a Lycoming Thunderbolt AEIO-580 engine. Sean Tucker flies the Oracle Challenger III biplane, powered by a Lycoming AEIO-540.
