Russ Bartlett, President and Chief Executive Officer, Textron Airborne Solutions

Russ Bartlett leads Textron Airborne Solutions, a Textron business unit focused on military training opportunities. Within Textron Airborne Solutions is Airborne Tactical Advantage Company (ATAC), a business that provides tactical flight training and adversary aggressor services for U.S. Navy, Marine, and Air Force pilots. Russ also works closely with Textron's military businesses to create opportunities for the company.

Bartlett was previously the president of Beechcraft Defense Company, which produces the T-6 Texan military trainer aircraft, the AT-6 Wolverine Light Attack aircraft and a variety of Special Missions platforms. Before joining Beechcraft, Bartlett had a distinguished military career, retiring from the U.S. Navy as a Captain in May of 2008 as Director, Security Assistance at the Navy International Programs Office. He was responsible for all Department of the Navy Foreign Military Sales programs, including development and execution of a complex, global FMS portfolio valued at over $4.5 billion per year. Previously, he was Team Lead for the Joint Integrated Air Capabilities and Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction groups for the Navy’s Quadrennial Defense Review cell.

From 2002 until 2004, he served as Commanding Officer and Flight Leader of the Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the "Blue Angels." As "Blue Angel One" for the 2003 and 2004 show seasons, he led team through over 900 high speed, low altitude, highly-coordinated flight demonstrations. Bartlett is a 1983 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy (B.S., Aerospace Engineering) and earned a master's in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College (graduated with Distinction as the President's Honor Graduate).
