German Operator Signs Purchase Agreement to Add Three Bell 505s for Powerline Patrol and Cargo Transport

November 19, 2025

Cologne, Germany (November 19, 2025) - Bell Textron Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announced today during European Rotors 2025 that Heli Transair has signed a purchase agreement for three additional Bell 505s with support from its Bell 505 dealer, Rheinland Air Service, bringing Heli Transair’s total Bell 505 fleet to five aircraft.

“Bell is very pleased to support Heli Transair as they add three additional Bell aircraft to advance their utility fleet,” said Robin Wendling, Managing Director of Europe, Bell. “The Bell 505 provides a modern and efficient multi-mission solution to utility operators, backed up by Bell leading customer support.

With strategic bases in Kiel, Frankfurt, and Landshut, Heli Transair supports major power and energy providers across Germany. The aircraft trio is joining the utility operator to support an array of missions, including powerline inspections, external load operations, and pilot training for both private and governmental customers.

“With the introduction of the Bell 505, Heli Transair is setting new standards in technology, efficiency and comfort – an adaption to changing customer demands that lays the foundation for future-oriented flight operations and modern training,” said Dirk Herr, CEO, Heli Transair European Air Services GmbH.

Known for having the highest hook load capability in the short-light single class combined with its Safran Arrius 2R engine and dual channel FADEC, the Bell 505 is well-suited for a wide array of critical safety missions, including utility use. With the added benefit of wide panoramic windows, an open cabin design, and Synthetic Vision technology, utility operators experience an elevated comprehensive look into terrain, powerlines, and antennas while conducting their patrols.

“We’re proud to support Heli Transair in expanding their fleet with the Bell 505. The aircraft’s performance and versatility make it an ideal choice for utility and training missions across Germany, and we’re pleased to strengthen our successful partnership with Bell through this project,” said Johannes Graf von Schaesberg, CEO of Rheinland Air Service GmbH.
