Wichita, KS - April 9, 2004 - Cessna will feature the 182 Skylane and 206 Stationair's all-glass fully integrated Garmin G1000 avionics suite at Sun 'n Fun, April 13-19, 2004, in Lakeland, Florida.
Cessna's new single engine piston airplanes equipped with the all-glass Garmin G1000 avionics have taken the aviation community by storm. Since introduction in October 2003, Cessna has taken orders for over 400 such aircraft. In 2004, 94 percent of Cessna's Skylane deliveries and 76 percent of Cessna's Stationair deliveries will feature the new NAV III option, equipped with the Garmin G1000 avionics.
"It's not surprising that customers have been excited about the new G1000 equipped 182 and 206," said John Doman, Vice President for Worldwide Propeller Sales. "The high level of integration is spectacular and the wealth of additional information at the pilot's fingertips will make flying easier and safer. Glass cockpits are a new and innovative step for general aviation, and we're thrilled to share this advanced technology with Cessna owners."
The G1000 NAV III avionics package is the most advanced flight deck package to fly on a single engine piston aircraft. It integrates all primary flight, navigation, communication, terrain, traffic, weather and engine sensor data on two large 10.4 inch glass, high resolution, XGA technology display units. The system will ease pilot workload and offer a new level of safety and situational awareness during all phases of flight.
Cessna is the world's leading manufacturer of single engine piston aircraft.
