Eleven Bell 407s for EMS
AMTC 2007 - September 17, 2007 - Officials from Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company and Med-Trans Corporation today signed an agreement for the sale of 11 Bell 407 aircraft in support of the Med-Trans Emergency Medical Service mission. The aircraft will be delivered between 2009 and 2011.
Commenting on the agreement Bob Fitzpatrick, Sr. Vice President for Bell Business Development said, "This is a great day for Bell, our customer and most of all for the many people that these aircraft will help over the years. The fastest selling helicopter in its class, the Bell 407 is particularly suited for the EMS mission. It has quick and easy patient loading and unloading provided by a standard bi-fold door with a 61-inch (155 cm) opening. A smooth ride is essential for the EMS mission. The 407 provides that due to an all composite, four bladed rotor system that also provides excellent hover performance and speed. Further the 407 provides expanded safety and reduced operating costs from the FADEC (Full Authority Digital Engine Control) engine fuel management system.
