Cessna Continues to Add Capabilities to Citation Mustang

July 22, 2007
Oshkosh, WI - July 22, 2007 - Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, today announced at the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh that the Citation Mustang team is developing additional capabilities for the aircraft.

“The flight testing team recently completed testing required for high altitude certification at El Alto International Airport in La Paz, Bolivia,” said Mustang program manager, Russ Meyer. “Once the certification is complete, it enables the Mustang to take off and land at altitudes up to 14,000 feet.” Sixteen Mustangs have been delivered from the Independence, Kan. production facility and Cessna is on target to ship 40 aircraft this year. The first delivery of an EASA certified Mustang will occur in August. Brazilian certification is imminent.

First flight of the Mustang occurred on August 31st, 2005. The Mustang achieved FAA Certification on September 8th, 2006 and EASA Certification on May 21st, 2007.

The fully functional Garmin G1000 equipped Citation Mustang includes an integrated, dual-channel fail passive digital autopilot. It is the first aircraft certified to take advantage of WAAS navigation features including WAAS LPV approaches that provide both lateral and vertical guidance. The Garmin G1000 avionics suite also includes SafeTaxi which gives a graphical representation of the aircraft in the airport environment.

The six-place Citation Mustang has a top speed of 340 ktas (nearly 400 miles per hour), a range of 1,150 nautical miles (1323 statute miles – NBAA IFR Reserves) and a service ceiling of 41,000 feet.
