Cessna Delivers First of 10 Skyhawks to University of Dubuque

July 28, 2008

Oshkosh, WI - July 28, 2008 - Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, has delivered the first of 10 Model 172 Skyhawks to the University of Dubuque’s Aviation Department.

The University of Dubuque is a long-time Cessna customer. The school’s Aviation Department is replacing its current fleet of Cessna 172 Skyhawks with new models that are equipped with the Garmin G1000 glass cockpits. Dubuque uses the Skyhawks in its private and instrument flight courses and in an integrated FAA/Industry Training Standards course.

“The addition of the G1000-equipped Skyhawks will allow our aviation students to be better prepared for the future,” said Steven Accinelli, Aviation Department head and director of the University of Dubuque Flight Center. “This is our second generation of Cessnas, and we have appreciated the excellent partnership with Cessna in delivering high-quality aircraft on time.”

Cessna will complete the final deliveries of the order in June 2009. The Cessna 172 Skyhawk is on display at this week’s Experimental Aircraft Association annual conference – AirVenture 2008.

“With these aircraft, the university will be using the most current technology to train the next generation of pilots,” said John Doman, Cessna’s vice president, worldwide propeller aircraft sales.
