Williamsport, PA - April 30, 2009 - Lycoming Engines, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, has announced that Jack Strite, Director of Strategy and Business Development, has been named program manager for Lycoming’s new Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) programs.
“Our new UAS customers will bring a host of new dynamics, processes, rules, regulations, security matters and protocols that must be met,” said Ian Walsh, Lycoming senior vice president and general manager, when he announced the changes. “Assigning these responsibilities now will be crucial to the future growth of Lycoming.”
As program manager, Strite will be responsible for the overall planning, schedule, quality, delivery and budget of each UAS program, as well as all contracts and negotiations.
Strite’s program management background includes 23 years at Lycoming Engines Stratford and recently as the person responsible for developing what is a new growth segment for Lycoming Engines – Unmanned Aerial Vehicles or UAVs.
Strite will continue to the report to Walsh and has dual accountability to Bob Buckley, senior vice president of business development for Textron Systems Corporation.
