MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA — SEPTEMBER 1, 2016 — Textron Systems, a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) business, announced today that it has renamed its Melbourne, Australia-based company, Aerosonde Pty Ltd, to Textron Systems Australia Pty Ltd, reflecting a rebranding of its broader service offering and continued commitment to the Asia-Pacific region.

Textron Systems Australia Pty Ltd has decades of unmanned aircraft system (UAS) expertise, including the origination of the Aerosonde Small Unmanned Aircraft System (SUAS). The Australia-based company specializes in all facets of unmanned aviation including ground control technologies, training and simulation systems, logistical, engineering and support services. In addition, Textron Systems Australia Pty Ltd, which has provided a single resource for UAS or operational services across the entire Asia-Pacific region to Antarctica, has strong ties to the region’s aviation community, including Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority, or CASA.

Our services can be applied to various Textron Systems products and endeavors – and we are excited to formally take on this expanded mission and support our fellow businesses.”
